We all love it when public holidays fall right before or after the weekends, allowing us more time to rewind from our daily working tasks. In fact, it is scientifically proven by social scientists that a shorter workweek improves “work/life balance” by giving us “more time to spend on social activities, to care for children and the elderly, and to engage with our communities.” Studies have also shown that participants with reduced workings hours tend to have their productivity increased and are less prone to illnesses.
Since everyone should take advantage of a long weekend, what better way to make the most out of it then take a cruising trip to sea. This may not be the typical weekend getaway but I highly recommend everybody to try it at least once and it’s definitely do-able (Click here to find out more). I was recently given the opportunity to cruise on a yacht during a sunny day in Hong Kong and loved every bit of being in the sea. When you’re at sea, it truly gives you a sense that you’re free from all distraction. Since the holiday season is approaching near, I thought I’d compile a few things you can do whilst cruising along the ocean. Scroll through for my most sought-after activities at sea.

Disconnecting from a world full of distractions is a way to get into a relaxed vacation mode. Detox experts have suggested that switching off gave benefits which include reduced amounts of stress to individuals, an increased sense of calmness, better sleep as well as giving off a sense of freedom.
Go to a secluded a beach
Cruising near beautiful secluded beaches is the best way to discover hidden gems without a soul in sight. The further away you go, the least accessible it becomes, so take advantage of your yacht or cruise.
What are you waiting for? Take a dip in the fresh breezy water and enjoy the sound of waves surrounding you. If you’re not a swimmer, you can also sit back, relax, and float along the calm waves.
If you’re looking to do something more active and adventurous, this is a great way to discover hidden coves and caves whilst also getting some exercise done.
Play cards or board games
Always a good idea to reconnect and spend quality time with family and friends. Games such as monopoly and poker are definitely great time fillers and the best part of it is being free from all distractions and interruptions!
This sport isn’t just fun and exciting, it can also be a form of stress relief and a give off a sense of freedom being out at sea to waiting on your next catch.
Nothing like a night spent gazing at the milky way brings on the sense of being alive and helps to rebuild our personal reserves.
End the night early to fully relax and start the day feeling refreshed just to do all the above all over again!
