How To Earn Money While Travelling
Nowadays, our generation have a growing passion for travel and new experiences, however many are held back from doing so due to finance being a major factor. So today, I would like to share with you the possibility to travel without worrying about how to finance your next trip! In fact, there are many ways to earn money while you travel, and I’ve gathered a couple suggestions on how to do just that.
1. Join online communities that offer freelance services. There are many ways to be a digital nomad and travel the world without signing a contract. All you need is a laptop and some basic computer skills you can offer to others.- Upwork is a website platform for freelancers and companies to pair up.You don’t have to be an expert in website coding or analytics, Upwork allows freelancers to upload job posts based on their skill set they can offer.Find out more here: www.upwork.com- Fiverr is another site for freelance workSimilar to Upwork, Fiverr allows people who will pay you $5 to do just about anything.Find out more here: www.fiverr.com- Workshift is similar to the previous 2 mentioned above. Except it is based in Japan, for international freelancers to connect and work with Japanese companies and firms online.Find out more here: www.workshift-sol.com
2. Working HolidaysThis is a common practice for those who wish to work aboard in a country while having the ability to travel around for up to one year. Many countries have mutual agreements that issue a limited amount of working holiday visas a whole year for those aged 18-30 years old.Countries such as Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, Germany, Japan, Canada, Korea, France, United Kingdom, Austria and Hungary have partnership agreements between each other. The one-year working holiday visa might just be your best option to make money and travel. This is definitely an incredible way to earn an income while being abroad. You can read more about how to apply here (for Hong Kong): www.whs.gov.hk/en/
3. HousesittingImagine renting an Airbnb but for free! What’s even better is you may even get to take care of the owner’s pet during your stay. Whilst accommodation can take up a huge budget from your travels, this is ideal for those who are flexible with the duration of their stay. There are many sites out there that offer house sitting, here is a list of them that are well established and are reliable.- Housecarers.comAlthough there are many posting from around the world, this is mainly for the U.S. and Australia, followed by Canada, New Zealand. The sign-up fee for housesitters is US$50.- Mindmyhouse.comThis is a great source for housesitting in Europe, but there are also plenty from the U.S. and Canada. This is the cheapest housesitting service on the web at only US$20 per year.- Nomador.comThis site is slightly new compared to the other sites listed above. An advantage about this site is that you don’t have to commit to a membership right away, you get to send 3 applications without paying for a membership!
4. PawShakePet sitting around the world and earn money from it! For all the animal lovers out there, this an ideal way to earn some cash while having fun with someone’s pet.See more about it here: www.pawshake.com.hk
5. GrabrThis is my personal favourite and is a fairly new app from Brazil. Although most users are in South America, it is slowly making its mark around the world. This online community allows you to earn money while travelling to another country. The App allows you to get paid every time you travel by delivering items along the way to someone who lives there!See more about it here: Grabr.ioLet me know if you have experience with any of the above, and I would to hear if you have any other suggestions!
